Duration: 1 day plus time for pre-reading & pre-course questionnaire
This Course targets on-road behaviour and attitude in an effort to reduce risk taking, with an emphasis on motivating drivers to make safe driving decisions.
This course is also particularly suited to anyone who operates vehicles on gravel roads.
The course, which can be tailor-made to your specific requirements, is conducted in a non-threatening environment on normal roads away from race tracks as this has its own mind set.

Course Overview:
This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others.
Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion, candidates will be awarded with the White Card Official Statement of Attainment and the White Card.
Once the course is completed, your assessment answers will be assessed and marked. Once all assessments and government mandated requirements have been validated, the White Card and Official Statement of Attainment will be mailed to you.
Who should attend?
This unit is required for anyone who wishes to work on, or enter any active work site in Infrastructure, Resources and Construction. Persons working in a ‘construction’ trade position whether full-time or contracting are required to hold a white card and have it in their possession on site. This course is mandatory for those intended for a work site within Australia.

Course Overview:
This course has been designed for persons involved in road building, road maintenance, Bitumen sheeting, or Civil construction earthworks, mining, quarrying. Including those who may work, supervise, or manage those who may be required to work in the vicinity of Road works.
It aims to provide participants with the underpinning knowledge to be able to recognize and ensure the requirements of a safe work environment in relation to or near road maintenance, Bitumen sheeting, or Civil construction earthworks.
“Safety Observer/Spotter” means a person who has enough safety knowledge and experience to ensure that pedestrians, workers, vehicles & machinery are kept a safe distance from the road building machinery.
Objective:
To enable participants to clearly understand the role of the Observer as the safety observer to warn mobile plant operators and crane drivers in the proximity of road Works & civil construction work inclusive of communications, water, sewerage and power.

QUICK CUT SAW SAFETY TRAINING AND OPERATION COURSE
THE AIM OF THE COURSE:
There have been a significant number of incidents of people being seriously injured while utilising Quick Cut saws in their day-to-day work. These often life altering workplace injuries have not only impacted the novice user, but expert users with years of experience have fallen victim to being struck by this incredibly powerful tool.
This is why the team at Current Training have developed a training course that is aimed specifically at the industry groups and the work they undertake with this purpose-built training program. The training program wraps around the accredited unit of competency RIISAM204E Operate Small Plant and Equipment expanding and contextualising to the actual work being conducted by the client in the workplace.
The program covers the following aspects:
- Understanding the safety requirements around quick cut saw use
- Preparation and pre-starts
- Safe use in a variety of cutting positions and efficient handling
- General maintenance, shut down and care
DURATION:
4 HOURS
Note: The course can be extended in length to further add to content for specific client needs.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
All clients will need to undertake a theory based written exam based on the key required knowledge areas of quick cut saws. Prior to undertaking any saw operation.
Clients will then be assessed on their safe operation of a quick cut saw across a variety of industry-based criteria.
PRE-REQUISITES:
You must hold the construction induction white card (CPC WHS1001 prepare to work safely in the construction industry)
Basic literacy and numeracy skills (reasonable adjustment can be applied)
WHAT YOU WILL EARN:
You will receive a plastic wallet card that shows you have successfully completed and met all requirements to operate a quick cut saw in the construction industry
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
You will need a pen, your white card, your driver’s licence, your USI or to be able to obtain one
You will need to ensure you have full PPE that is: Steel toe boots, long drill cotton pants, Long drill cotton reflective shirt, hearing protection, safety glasses, anti-vibration gloves, hard hat, (Current Training will provide all other PPE)
If the training is being conducted on a worksite, Current Training will require the use of site approved equipment (Quick Cut Saw, Water supply, Fuel, protective equipment).
LOCATION: We come to you, onsite.

THE AIM OF THE COURSE:
The mining industry has many specific areas of safety that it must prepare workers for, so as to remain safe while conducting their day-to-day function. Welding operations is one area that involves a number of different trades functioning in various aspects of mine operations. From construction, production to maintenance, welding operations are critical to the mining industry.
Industry and mine owners/managers have called for training that will address hot works safety being carried out in the mining industry. Training that will be generic enough to cover any trade group that utilises any equipment, which is deemed to be ‘Hot Works’. This is with the intention of addressing the significant number of incidents of people being seriously injured while utilising gases, welders and grinders in their day-to-day work. Hot works injury has led to life altering injuries, through to death and has not only impacted the novice worker, but expert workers with years of experience have fallen victim to accidents while conducting hot work in mines.
This is why the team at Current Training have developed a training course that is aimed specifically at the various mining industry groups and the work they undertake with this purpose-built training program. The non-accredited training program wraps around four specific aspects of hot works that is common in the mining industry, we are able to contextualise what is delivered to the variety trade backgrounds and to the actual work being conducted by the client in the workplace with prior consultation.
The program covers the following aspects:
- Understanding the safety requirements around the use of oxy/fuel gas equipment
- Safe handling, transportation and storage of gas cylinders
- Safe use and the various aspects that surround electric welding equipment
- General safety and care of the use of abrasive grinding equipment

6 HOURS
Note: The course can be extended in length to further add to content for specific client needs.

All clients will need to undertake a written knowledge test based on the presented information to ensure the key aspects of the training have been retained.
Clients will then be assessed on their set up and safe operation within the workplace ensuring key aspects of practice are followed.

You must hold the construction induction white card (CPC WHS1001 prepare to work safely in the construction industry)
Basic literacy and numeracy skills (reasonable adjustment can be applied)
Be a competent person in the use of Hot Works Equipment (this is not a training program to train welding)
WHAT YOU WILL EARN:
You will receive a plastic wallet card and statement of attendance that shows you have successfully completed and met all requirements of:
MDG-25 Safe Cutting and Welding in Mines awareness training
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
You will need a pen, your white card.
You will need to ensure you have full PPE that is: Rubber sole hard toe boots, long drill cotton pants-long cotton drill reflective shirt (no cuffs), hearing protection, safety glasses, gauntlets/gloves, welding helmet, welding apron/jacket.
If the training is being conducted on a worksite, Current Training will require the use of site approved equipment and to be inducted into the site where needed.
